Honoring Our Veterans

One of The American Legion’s core principles is to HONOR THOSE WHO CAME BEFORE US. This means The American Legion pays perpetual respect for all past military sacrifices to ensure they are never forgotten by new generations. Here at Post 2002, we deliver on this principle in the following ways:

Fort Logan National Cemetery

Post 2002 includes members of the All Veterans Honor Guard and conducts “Military Honors” as members of the rifle squad for funeral and memorial services at Fort Logan National Cemetery. We are also available to support and be a presence at local churches and public or private facilities.

Our Post participates in Wreaths Across America activities by laying wreaths at Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton, CO. Please contact us if you would like to help.

Post 2002 participates in placing American flags at veteran gravesites at Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton on Flag Day. Please contact us if you would like to help.


Our Post distributes poppies at locations in Brighton, CO during Memorial Day weekend to educate our community about the significance of Memorial Day and to honor those veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Please contact us if you would like to help.
